“Let us Plant A tree ,
Let us Plant Hope” Milagres Central School , Mangaluru celebrated Vanamahotsava
week- Dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and conservation from 1st
July to 6th July 2024 . A week long
programme was organised by conducting various competitions for the
students of grade 1- 10.
On fifth day of celebration ,Vanamahotsava day was organised
in the morning assembly.The event aimed
to educate students about the
importance of protecting our planet earth. The main objective of Vanamahotsava
is to encourage our students to plant trees, and to encourage awareness about
the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate
change.
The programme began with the prayer song by the grade 8th
students. Zainaba from garde 8th delivered effective speech about
the importance of trees and the socio
economic effects. This was followed by the planting of sapling by our Principal
Rev Fr Joseph Udaya fernandes. School
head boy and head girl also accompanied. The students shown great eagerness while planting the saplings.
Principal Distributed prizes for winners of the
various competitions like wealth out of waste, presenting germinated seeds,
wall hanging, elocution and poster making are held on account of Vanamahotsava week.
And shared his words about conserving
our nature.
A
melodious group song on beauty of nature
was presented by
girls from grade 8th .Students from Grade 2 presented a
spectacular dance on a theme “Save Trees”. A skit highlighting the consequences
of deforestation, the benefits of tree plantation and importance of medicinal plants
was performed by the students of grade 8th.Vote of thanks was delivered
by Mohammed Eshan of Grade 8th.The
Programme was hosted by Vaiga
Prashanth of Grade 8th.
Vanamahotsava celebration in our school were a resounding
success students learned valuable lessons about the environmental responsibility.
We look forward to continuing these
efforts and a making a positive impact
on our planet.
