The workshop
on AI TOOLS FOR TEACHERS was
organized by the Department of
Computer Applications of St Joseph Engineering College to the teachers of MILAGRES CENTRAL SCHOOL, which is a one-day
hands on program held on 22nd May 2024.
The Inaugural program begins with a prayer song led by the teachers of Milagres Central School. Dr. Hareesh B, HOD Of Computer Applications welcomed the gathering. Principal of St Joseph Engineering college addressed the gathering. Rev Fr Uday Fernandes of Milagres Central School shared his thoughts.
Further,
the workshop consisted of 4 sessions elaborating:
1. The
Role of AI in Education
2. Introduction
on AI Tools
3. Google
sites and Personal Web Page creation
4. Google
Classroom and Canvas
In the 1st Session, Resource person Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC, briefly explained on Artificial Intelligence and its importance in education. Also, he explained how Artificial Intelligence works, contrasting it with the process/working of a Human learning brain followed by Impact of AI on Social, Pedagogy and Ethical forms of education.
In the 2nd session resource person Dr Hareesh B, HOD, Department of Computer Applications, SJEC, Mangalore explained on the topics exploring the power of AI tools in Education and also how to use some of AI tools like Bing Image creator, Pictory, Magicschool, etc. to create content, to present and to evaluate in teaching-learning process.
The 3rd session continued with the Resource person Mr. Murari B K, Assistant Professor-MCA, SJEC elaborating on how to create google sites and how to create personal webpage to store academic details of the teachers and students which can be easily accessed by the students for teaching learning process.
The 4th session after lunch break continued with Dr Vijay V S, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, SJEC. He instructed teachers how to create account, create course, add students, and how to send the links using the Learning Management systems like google classroom and Canvas.
The workshop
came to an end with Mrs. Melita Fernandes delivering the Vote of thanks.
